You do well in practice, but lose it in competition. You feel defeated and angry with yourself when your practice doesn't go the way you want. You have high expectations, but you don't feel like you're living up to them, and as a result, you beat yourself up with critical self-talk. You feel your nerves or fear of "messing up" cause you to not perform up to your ability. Do any of these sound familiar? Question: Do you dedicate time to your Mental Training? As an athlete, you know it takes dedicated physical training, with no room for short cuts to prepare your body to perform at its best. However, that isn't enough. Your mind is a critical part of how you perform, because how you think influences everything you do. Unfortunately, how your mind works for you (or against you) is often overlooked. You can begin now, preparing your mind to be in readiness alignment with your body. You can learn the skills you need to be mentally prepared to perform at your best. This is a new path on your journey, combining the physical with the mental, enabling you to perform at your best.
